skit ideas

The first scene i would use for my skit would be the first encounter Pip had with Abel on the marshes. this would be good because it would show the relationship Pip and Abel had at first and it would also be humorous.

The second scene would be when Abel comes and sees Pip again later in his years and tells him he is his benefactor. this would be good because this would reveal how Pip feels at first about him being his benefactor and how he reacts.

The last scene would be when Pip fights the pale young gentleman. this would be action packed and it would be humorous. Also this would show how Pip and Herbert first met.

great expectation queston

although quite a few parts are confusing in the book one that sticks out recently in my head is when pip went back for Mrs. Joe's funeral and when he went for a walk and talked with biddy. the quote is on page 306 in the attic book at the end of chapter 35 "... I reflected what an unkidness, what injury, what an injustice Biddy had done me." My question is what was the injustice that she had done to pip. I was confused about this because pip hadnt seen Biddy in awhile and how had she did something to him.

foto post.

I chose this picture for my blog because it symbolizes two things in pips life in the novel. first off it shows how pip wwas given two paths to choose from either move to London and become a gentalman and leave everything he has ever know or stay with his family and things he is familiar with. The second reason i chose this was because the fork showed how he was at first not accustom to the ways of a gentleman and didnt know things about how t hold the silver wear and things.

great expectations

Pip is reafering to the day when he went to Mrs. Havishams house to go and play for her. This day altered pip greatly. Before he went to go play he was a very immocemt, nieve, little boy who was content with his life of being th "son" of a blacksmith. When he went to Mrs. Havishams he changed by now he is aware about things like love, the heartbreaks, and also the differences between common and uncommon people. After becoming aware of these things he is now on a new path of his chain and now he not at all content with his futer of being an aprentence to a blacksmith but now he is ashamed of it and he wants to become uncommon like Mrs. Havisham and Estella.

The event that set me on the the chain that i am currently was when i me my firs friend. before i met my first friend i didn't know that much about showing compasion, caring for somone else, and sharing. but after meeting myfriend i was very wing to share and i also found out taht when i sowed compasion to someone else the usually gave i back in return. This leads to my characteristics no because i amvery considerate, helpful ad caring toward other people.

the importance of being ernest.

for my concrete details i am going to be useing are: first when lady bracknell is talking with jack and saying how he is not on the list of elidigble men. then my comentaryies for it will be how it shows that the kids dont get to pick who they marry. then how it shows that maarrige is a bussiness. my next concrete detail is the saying that divorces are made in heaven. then my comentaries for it will be that it shows that once you are married you are married untill one of the people dies. and that it also shows how divorces were looked down upon during the victorian era. my last concrete detail is when cecily is talking about how she wants to marry ernest because of his name. dthen my comentaries for it will be that it shows how marrige is not always about love but simple things like names. then this also shows that marriges are a thing that help raise your social standings by how cecily feels bad for any marrided to someone not named ernest is kind of one uping everyone else which would raise her social standings.

then for my three fold transitional sentence will be: Men, women, each have their expectations set by society which may be good or bad, but they are also brought to each other through society.

the importance of being ernest.

Reasearching the victorin era before reading the play was definitely very helpful in increaseing my understanding of the play. Some things i came across when reading the play was that two major themes accured in the book that i also found during my reasearch of the victoria era. those being the social class structure and about marrage during the victorian time. In the play it talked much about how the upper class was way better than the lower class and that the lower class had to work all the timewhile the upper class did what they pleased. this informaion i also found during my reasearch. i found in my reasearch that the upper class rarely has to work and most of them get all their wealth from their relatives before them. while the lower class is working very hard doing physcal labor just trying to get money to pay for the food for their families. Also the lower class was not respected at all by the upper class. a part in the play showing this was on page 28 "they seem, as a class, to have absolutely no sense of moral responsibility."

The second major theme in the play was marrige. through my research of the victorian era i fund that marrige was a big part of the era. Marrige to most people during tis time was more of a business then of romance. The people who were wealthy would only marry other wealth people. also the women who were getting married didn't have much say in the matter their parents would do all of the arrangeing of the marriges. And in the play it shows a great deal of how the parents control what happens to the marriges and how marrige is not just about love. An example of this is on page 45 Lady bracknell says." I feel bound to tell you that you are not own on my list of eligible young men." this shows how the mother is making all the arrangements and is chooseing who her daughter can marry.

my new years resoulution

My new year resolution for 2010 is to not procrastinate. procrastination is a habit that i have to deal with a lot. i procrastinate on a lot of things from school work, chores or training for sports. i even procrastinated on this assignment. By fixing this habit it will hopefully improve my grades and myself all around.

My plan to stop my procrastination is to first due assignments right when i get them. i dislike having the feeling of them looming above me. Second I'm going to make a schedule so i can set certain times for things like chores, homework, and training for rock climbing and baseball. In theory this plan should help me stop my procrastinating habit.
